Hello everyone, mi name is Adriana Marquez Medina. I would like to share with you some observations about myself as a foreign language learner in order to know which strengths and weaknesses I have.
ReplyDeleteFirst, I want to talk about my weaknesses when I learn English. Is difficult to know exactly which aspects I have to improve without practice, that`s why I think that the lack of practice is the first thing to check when I think about “THINGS TO IMPROVE”, In addition, even if I am good at fluency I kwon I should work in my pronunciation because of the importance of a clear understanding. Also, I am kind of lazy when I have to write something, but when I do it, I try to do it well.
On the other hand, I consider the love I have for music a strength that I explode as much I can, and thanks to this, my listening skills are better now. Grammar is an important part of English that I enjoy and that I think I am good at. I like to read even if is in Spanish or English and my reading comprehension is not a problem for me.
The strengths I think I can use to foster my language learning are the music and reading because I think that the best way to learn is to mix learning and the things you love to do in order to make it funnier.
To sum up I like to improve my English and I want to work hard in order to get the level I want to achieve.

Good morning to everybody, I am Steffi Marín and today I want to tell you, which are my strengths and weaknesses, as a Foreign Language Learner.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I have to say, I consider myself good at reading comprehension. I love to read, and I frequently do it. I usually read tales, but now I want to try with books, because I would like to increase my vocabulary and to learn some expressions. In addition I have a good spelling, so writting is another of my strengths.
On the other hand, talking about my weaknesses, I have to improve my listening comprehension. Sometimes when I listen to news, I do not understand what people say, but I know that is because of my lack of practice. To sum up, when I write or speak, I get confused about what preposition, verb or article use, I mean, sometimes I forget the grammar rules. I know, it does not help a lot my fluency, so now the most important thing for me to improve, is my safety to speak fluently without being afraid of making mistakes.
Finally,I think this study of languages, in particular, requires a lot of practice and dedication, so, I think we should convert whatever we make it a habit, in order to foster our language learning. My strategies are to enjoy each activity we propose, to read, to listen to music or news, to watch our favorite series on TV and above all to dare to speak without fear of making mistakes.

ReplyDeleteI think that my qualities are responsible, intelligent, but, i consider that my weaknesses in learning a language are many. I would like to improve my fluency and grammar, I think the most practical way to achieve this is through study and reading, oral exercises, the music also think it is a good tool. on the other hand,I believe that my listening comprenhensio is a little bad and will work hard to get better. in particular, requires a lot of practice and dedication, so, I think we should convert whatever we make it a habit, in order to foster our language learning. ReplyDeleteMaybe in this level of my career, I should to say that I have more fortress tan weakness, but it´s not so. My process has not been the best. I think that my process is very slowly, because of not search different strategies for learning and to be better. First of all, I have more difficult to listen, to talk, and those problems affect my security. On the other way, to study Foreign Languages require of discipline and dedication, but overcoat to be risky. I believe that it´s necessary to have a good routine of work, for example, a personal project or make different activities that we like (to listen to music, to read, and other more), where we can practice and to have a continuous improvement. In addition, we can profit the help of the English assistant or the different tools (internet, the book, etc.), all those things are very important as learner and as future Foreign Languages Teacher. To sum up, to study foreign languages is a process very important and significant. All depend of our effort and dedication for improvement.
Hi people. My name is Erika yazmin Reyes and in this opportunity I would like to tell you about which are my strengths and weaknesses as a foreign languages learner. First I think this blog is a great way to improve my english level; Second I Know that my vocabulary is a problem because the shortage of it. By other hand I know what kind of words are using the new generation of native speakers, I have the facility to use those words as a method to show this skill. Third I trust in myself at the moment to learn new topics. I do it fast and It's something that I'm going to remember for a long time. As everyone knows learning a new language is something not easy at all. It needs dedication, effort, and love at the moment to learn it. Some of the strategies that I use at the moment to learn is to watch tv shows, listening music, reading, etc.... and the strategies that I use I know can be a good method to use with my students as a future teacher.

ReplyDeleteI would like to start by saying that listening comprehension is definitely one of the things I am really good at and I think that's because of all the help I have gotten from watching American TV shows since I was 9 years old. On the other hand, I find myself doubting how to write certain sentences because I conseder them to be to "complicated" for me to handle due to the level I am at right now; and in addition, I have some problems with pronunciation and grammar.
On what strategies I put to use for my personal imporvement, I think my thoughts about the use of social media definitely need to be brought up. Thanks to websites like Twitter, Youtube and Tumblr I've had the oportunity to interact with native speakers and get to know more about the lenguage and culture; things that apart from being useful for my career have served to lift up my spirit as a person. That is why in my opinion the implementacion of speaking activities would be something great to try out in class and that way us classmates would be able to learn from each other.
To sum things up I am gonna say this: Practice makes perfect and why not use the classroom as a plce to bond and learn instead of just enter it to endure a somewhat boring lecture?

ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I would like to talk about my weaknesses when I learn English. Sometimes when I listen to news or English conversations, I can not understand what people say beacuse of their accent or because they speak too fast, that's why I think that I do not have the enough listening comprehension skills. In addition, when I read some texts in English I have to look for help in the dictionary because of the unknown vocabulary and some types of grammar that I frequently forget because of the lack of practice. So now I spend a lot of time reading interesting and useful stories with appropiated activities and listening many English interviews in order to improve my listening and reading.
On the other hand I feel really comfortable with my phonetic skills, I have a good pronunciation that is indispensable for a clear conversation, and this is because I love to speak English with natives.
To sum up we are going to be TEACHERS therefore we must be prepared in all the possible ways to develop a good rol in this profession I mean we have to be researchers, analyzers and the most important thing: we have to love and enjoy whatever we do with responsability and dedication.

ReplyDeletemy strengths as a foreign language learner are, frist I rally love english, I practice my listening almost everyday, I have the real purpose to speak english an teaching its, on sum up I´m working to improve my english.
on other hand I don´t know much about fhrasal verbs, and I really love to know all of them. Other could be, maybe somethings some english accents I don´t get it, for example Jamaica´s english.
so I really wanna improve all of the skills in this course; listening, reading, writing and speaking through of differents and funny activities. I expect a space to share, speak and listening.

I like to learn English because I've always listened to music and I've watched tv programs too, in addition I think that I am good at writting and listening and I think that I can communicate with people in English.
in the other hand I don't know a lot of vocabulary and I try to find others words but is difficult to me, so i would like to improve my vocabulary.
I think that is very important to learn and speak several languages because it is very useful and necessary in the world today.

First i am going to do a little introduction about myself, My name is angela patricia nieto ,I am 20 years old ,I am a foreing languages student now. I am from Sogamoso, but I am living at Tunja. The English learning is a difficult activity, but if each onebody worry for develop each skills of this language , it would be more easy, for my part , I have many weaknesses overcoat in the speaking ability, i would like that we could develop more activities in the classroom for improve that, such as; debate, expositions, round table, in general that all class are dynamics , on other hand my best strenght I think that is the listening, but equally i want to improve the others, because each one have a lot of importance,it could be thourgh of listen to music, read of newpaper, interactives games etc.
To sum up ,We can not forget that each skill of English learnig , and We must improve day a day

I want to tell you about my weaknesses and strenghts as a foreing language learner.
I like English and I think I learn the language, because, when I was a child
my brother made me listen to rock in English all the time, so I developed some listening skills.
Nowadays I can communicate with people in English, and I think I'm very good at writing, however, the punctuation sometimes gives me a hard time.
I can read texts and understand the meaning without problems, although there could be sometimes some unknown words to me but It doesn´t matter, I just look up the word and improve my vocabulary.
I think it is very important to speak several languages, It is necessary in the world today.
